Unsaid presents the recreation of a historic jewel: the Plaque de l'Ordre du Saint-Esprit – in collaboration with the prestigious Musée de la Légion d’Honneur. In restoring a symbol of cultural memory, the Maison reimagines an emblem once carved into the regalia of French royalty and brings its legacy into a new era.
Crafted in the 18th century, the badge became an emblem of the most prestigious chivalric order of the French monarchy, once bestowed upon King Charles X. Each element carries enduring meaning: the eight-pointed Maltese cross echoes the eight beatitudes; a descending dove evokes the divine presence of the Holy Spirit; and the fleur-de-lys, the eternal emblem of French royalty.
Through the lens of material innovation, Unsaid has meticulously recreated this piece with 382 lab-grown diamonds, mirroring the splendor of the original. At its heart lies a 7.5-carat diamond, encircled by old mine, rose, and brilliant cuts, with a single lab-grown ruby accenting an emblematic motif.
Marking the centenary of the Musée de la Légion d’Honneur and the bicentenary of King Charles X’s coronation, this collaboration reflects a shared commitment to honoring history with precision and care.
Guided by a vision of fidelity and renewal, the recreation restores a jewel of profound cultural significance through contemporary craft. In this meeting of heritage and innovation, it ensures that history remains present, relevant, and alive.
“In reviving this historic jewel with lab-grown diamonds, we’re showing that heritage and innovation can coexist, and weaving together past and present, memory and material. Our aim is to honor the majesty of French heritage while offering a new light. And through this creation, we invite new generations to experience its legacy anew.”
