Our mission
At Unsaid, our ambition is to build a brand that
makes a meaningful difference - to people and
to the planet. This is our core definition of
success, and as a result we are consciously
reflecting on our actions at every juncture, to
ensure we are improving across all areas of the
business.
Is our environmental impact reducing year on
year? Are we minimising the amount of waste
created? Are we building a healthy and
inclusive workplace? Are we creating equal
opportunities? These are questions we ask
ourselves every day. As we strive to build a
brand that we are proud of, we know that
every step counts. In 2020, we reevaluated
our company goals and committed to targets
in four broad areas: renewable energy,
recycled materials, carbon neutrality, and
equal and ethical practice.
Clean energy
All our jewels are exclusively created with lab
grown diamonds. Every Unsaid
diamond grown in our lab is powered with
renewable energy.
We use natural gemstones only when current
technology limits the possibility of creating a
specific colour. While this only comprises a
marginal 2% of all the stones that we use, we are
continuously investing in new technology to ensure
we can reduce the use of all mined stones and further
reduce our impact on the planet.
Diversity
We are committed to creating diverse and inclusive
teams, across our offices in India and Belgium, as well
as in our retail locations. Being a modern global
brand means we are a team of different nationalities
and backgrounds; a fusion of cultures
that brings a fresh and eclectic perspective to
everything we do.
We stand for ethics and equality and being an
organisation that fosters ethical practices and equal
opportunities for men and women is important to us.
Currently, 32% of our total employees are women,
including teams across diamond cutting, manufacturing,
design, and sales. In addition, 45% of our management
team are women led. As a part of our hiring process,
we are conscious of increasing the total number of femal
employees to at least 40% in the next two years.
